   either because they are illiterate or just too ignorant to realize what racist mean. Being anti-illegal doesnt mean anti-mexican. However for them to automatically assume that anti’s are speaking of mexicans when illegal is presented suggest they are stereotyping their own people since they believe illegals are always mexican. the problems is themselves, not anti-illegals. Illegals will always try to play the race card if it means making an excuse for themselves.

   Look at it from their point of view. How would you attack it? They are here illegally and this means they broke the American law. Can they say “I broke the American law and I am here illegally?” So they say….racist. You are being unfair to me. Treat me with dignity.    If you really think that this issue is about you listed, I must comment that this is as naive an opinion I have ever seen. I truly wish it were about such innocent things! Americans, by and large, may not wish to make this a racial issue but how about our Government? What is it that they wish to accomplish? I am fairly certain that this issue is about money more than it is about racism or anything else.

   When all logic eludes them, all they can resort to is name calling. I wonder if Guatemalans consider Mexicans racist, because Mexico sure as hell doesn’t want them in their country!
   Mexico has a right to defend their border. So do we.
   America has been better to those that illegally invade our borders than any other nation in the world. Call Americans racist if you want Mexico. At least we aren’t a bunch of UNGRATEFUL HYPOCRITES!

   You say this really well. I think the thing about playing the race card is in the liberals’ playbook. They use the race card as a smokescreen to confuse the issue. You are absolutely correct – it is NOT about race, but about money. You are not wrong. It is also possible, but not likely that they are not listening to what we say on the matter. They are only hearing what they want to hear.

    because they have no other leverage to justify their illegal entry and diversion of our resources. same reason lots of black people pull the race card, its easy, you dont have to have a logical arguement, and everyone gets scared of being called a racist and retreats

    seriously, do you know how much medicaid and welfare and every other benefit given to lower income citizens costs our government? a lot of them are getting medicaid already. i dont even care so much that many dont pay taxes, but when they start getting on these programs and we have to pay for public serivices, education, etc. for the currently 20 million illegal immigrants, its going to cost 100s of billions of dollars. its not a racial issue for me, its a *they came here illegally and uninvited and now are making all kinds of ungrateful demands to their host so its time we kick them all out* issue. just happens that +90% are spanish because we are surrounded by poor latin countries. the irish, italians, and other white groups have gotten a lot of guff in the past over immigration as well when people were pouring in from those countries

    I think some of them are just too sensitive and emotional to rationally discuss the issue of illegal immigration. Others, try to make it into a racial issue in order to deflect the discussion away from the pros and cons of illegal immigration. These dishonest people, not just Mexicans, but liberals too, know they cannot win an agrument for amensty for illegal aliens on its merits, so they resort to name-calling.

    These people have nothing but the race card in their hands to make the laughable justification of the unbelievable damages on our society caused by these illegals. (yeah, I know some people are going to be up in arms about the U.S’s invasion in Iraq)
    It’s quite amusing, if you read through posts by some of the supporters of illegal immigration or the illegals themselves, you start wondering why they couldn’t use their amazing skill in making excuses, twisting rules and blaming others on improving the systems in Mexico and other messed up Latin American countries.

    A lot of illegals pay taxes.
    A lot of them have to work mostly for food and the gov’t nothing else. They can’t even drive legaly and most cant at all. I feel bad for them. I feel that as long as an illegal immigrant is paying taxes and collaborating with the society they have all the right to remain here. However if they are braking the law and not paying taxes then yeah they can leave. But the others have the right to stay especially students. Wow its sad how it is so hard for an illegal to go to college. Give them a brake!

    Get and read the book Mexifornia. In it it lists the 8 ways to destroy America. Or do a google search on 8 ways to destroy America. In there they are taught, and using those exact listings as their instructions to destroy America.

    I don’t think it’s racist, i just think that some people over here over reacts and attack Mexico, if you are against all kinds of illegal immigration then why do you attack Mexico? Why don’t you attack illegal immigration itself? i don’t care what you guys do with your laws that’s not of my bussines but i just can’t stand reading people attacking straight to the mexicans, how come? lots of immigrants wich jump the america’s border aren’t even mexicans, later i see some other people whinning about how Mexico kick some illegal immigrants out..shouldn’t you be grateful instead? at the end those immigrants doesn’t want to stay in Mexico they’re seeking to jump your border, we don’t care, we cannot deport mexicans or forbid them to travel up north until the boarderline they are mexicans and have the right to travel whatever they want to travel inside their country(Mexico) and some other people cries about the recomendations given to immigrants, the first recomendation is not to enter illegaly in the us (i bet you haven’t read those flyers), and later if that doesn’t stop them the govmnt it’s just seeking their safety, we don’t want people dying it’s just to help them staying alive in the dessert or so they are up to your laws when they get inside your country …

    Also, Mexico is racist (otherwise why all the obsession with Viva la Raza, etc.), and so it is a projection of their own mentality.
    Myself, I don’t give a —- what your race is. Just don’t sneak into my country illegally. You want to come legally, great: get in line, and while you’re waiting in line… learn English, it’s the language in which all our LAWS are written.
    But other respondents basically nailed it: there just isn’t any other leg for them to stand on.

    Because in the most simplified way I can say it, it’s because they are brown. That’s basically their excuse for everything. “you just don’t want me here because I’m brown, I understand”, jk They are stubborn race and don’t realize that by being here in this counrty illegally is wrong. They are not afraid to take things for granted. Infact for the most part they have some form of underground knowledge of loopholes to get past certain things that are illegal. I can understand their feelings for wanting to be in this country. But by all means do it properly. My grandfather entered this country from Mexico and became a US citizen the right way, so can they. On that note: “NO SE PUEDE!” lol It has nothing to do with race, they just make it seem that way so the gov can back down. They’re trying to make it seem like we are attacking them and making the US feel guilty. believe they are the guilty and they know it.

    Because race is the only argument they really have. It’s a proven fact that illegals are costing our schools and medical services. They know they are filling our prisons. They know that they are depressing wages and taking jobs. They know that Americans have a multitude of legitimate concerns.
    But they still want to get they own way, by any means necessary. That leaves the race card, and now it seems they want to use religion, that we should be compassionate. The problem with that is the US CANNOT take care of every impoverished population (which, btw, Mexico doesn’t even qualify as)

    not everyone but a lot that do want the illegal immigrants out are racist. you can tell by their answers or questions, but i know there are a lot that are nice and just want like what you put. Hopefully something happens to where it works out for everyone.
    some DO pay taxes…… they get checks which have taxes taken out… they get numbers from ss to file taxes every yr. I know because my husbands family file theirs every year!!!!!!!

    Simple, they cannot find logical arguments to realistically state that illegal immigration is not a problem, so they turn to racism as an excuse to throw blame to those who want it controlled.
    The majority of those who are against illegal immigration are against it simply because of that first word, “illegal”, and the security problems it creates. If you do not have a record of everyone in the country, then it grants free rights for those who choose to abuse that privilege. To have someone here, and not have any record of their existence (no social security number, not even records of fingerprints), you simply have no control over the population.
    This country only exists and functions because of immigration, but the most likely thing that could cause this country to fall is illegal immigration. They are two separate entities, and only those who cannot create a valid argument against those who stand against illegal immigration choose to resort to racism. It’s an attempt to fool themselves into thinking that their thoughts are valid, instead of logically trying to decide what’s right here and the potential results of having people in this country completely unknown and undocumented.
